Dasgupta Takes Finance Role in New Bengal BJP Government

Swapan Dasgupta has been assigned the crucial finance portfolio within the newly formed West Bengal BJP government, according to a notification released by the state government on Wednesday. This marks the completion of the ministerial appointments, officially establishing the BJP's administration after a decisive victory in the April Assembly elections that ended the Trinamool Congress's 15-year reign.
The state government formally announced the allocation of portfolios across all 41 ministers, solidifying the composition of the new executive. Dasgupta's appointment to the finance ministry is considered a significant development, placing him at the heart of the state's economic planning and management.
The BJP’s victory in April brought an end to the long-standing rule of the Trinamool Congress, ushering in a new era of governance for West Bengal. The formation of this administration represents a considerable shift in the state's political landscape, with the BJP now tasked with addressing the challenges and opportunities facing West Bengal's economy and its citizens.
